Outdoor Blinds

An Outrigger outdoor blind or side screen is a vertical sail or awning that is either fixed or retracting. An outdoor blind or side screen is ideal for wind and rain protection if manufactured from a clear or coloured pvc fabric, or privacy and sun protection if manufactured from a pvc shade mesh fabric. They are available in sizes up to 10 metres wide by 6 metres high for a single screen.

An Outrigger retracting blind or side screen typically is a roller mounted screen which is either motorised or manually operated via a winch or crank and is secured along the bottom edge with stainless steel hooks, we can also design them to run through tracks. An Outrigger fixed blind or side screen or sail is usually tensioned with stainless steel turnbuckles and is left up permanently. All Outrigger blinds and side screens are engineered to withstand winds to 100 km/h.

BASIX recognises adjustable external vertical blinds as shading devices as they balance heating and cooling loads, reducing the need for air conditioning in summer and heating in winter.
