A demountable rainproof awning for Northbridge Sailing Club.

Problem
The sailing club required a rainproof cover over their deck which they could set up and dismantle on a daily basis. The awning needed to cover an area measuring approximately 8.0m x 10.0m and it needed to withstand the high winds from the North. Additionally the building was heritage listed and the structure needed to be fully demountable.
Solution
The solution was a twin batten awning design with a unique rope tension system. This design is robust and does not flap around during high winds. The curved profile is also very effective at shedding water during heavy rainfall.
Features
The awning features poles that sit in sockets and are easily removed, and the frame attaches to the poles with quick release clips. The awnings push back along the frame to store under a hood and against the wall when the awnings are required on a daily basis. Out of season the entire structure is dismantled and stored in the boathouse below.

The awning provides the club with the perfect venue to run sailing camps, and for renting out for functions, and Summer events.
